Initial Setup

I got a message that my operating system is not supported.

ROCKITPLAY Launcher requires WINDOWS 10 64-bit. In case your are using WINDOWS 7, 8 or 8.1 please send us a short note and we will provide you with a different download link.

Why do I need the ROCKITPLAY Launcher?

The ROCKITPLAY Launcher is the tool that allows your games to start long before the download is complete. So you spend more time playing and less time waiting.

Where is the ROCKITPLAY Launcher installed on my computer?

The ROCKITPLAY Launcher files can be found under C:\Program Files\ROCKITPLAY Launcher andC:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\rockit-launcher

What are the system requirements to run a game with the ROCKIT Launcher?

Your PC must meet the following requirements:
– WINDOWS 10 64-bit
– 300MB free hard drive space on drive C:
– minimum system requirements of the game
– active internet connection

Installation

Where does ROCKITPLAY Launcher install the games?

If you select drive C: during the installation process, a folder named %appdata%\rockit-launcher\ROCKIT-Library will be created and the game will be installed there. If you choose any other drive thanother thand C:, a folder named ROCKIT-Library will be created in the root folder of the drive
(Example: if you choose D: the game will be installed in D:\ROCKIT-Library)

When can I start playing the game?

The launcher needs to download a small fraction of the game before it can start. The size of this part depends on your currently available internet speed.

Can the ROCKITPLAY Launcher resume the download?
Yes, even if you close the game or loose internet connection, ROCKITPLAY Launcher will resume the download where it left off.
After the launcher is updated, all the text is in English.

This is an unintentional effect of the update.
Once the update has finished, close the launcher and restart your game.
All the launcher’s text will be again in German.

While Playing

Can I play without an active internet connection?
Playing while downloading requires an active internet connection. Once the game is completely downloaded, you will only need to be connected for the initial game start. 
Can I play the game without the ROCKITPLAY Launcher?

No. The game data is not accessible without the ROCKITPLAY Launcher.

Why did my game get minimized or got stuck while playing the game?

If your internet connection fails and is unavailable for a longer period of time, ROCKITPLAY Launcher will minimize the game so that you can use your PC again. As soon as your connection is active again, the download will continue and you will be informed as soon as the game is ready again.

My game is stuttering and/or slowing down.

In some rare cases, such as when your internet is slower than normal, you may experience some temporary judder while playing. This usually does not last long. If the judder persists, make sure your  internet connection is working properly and that you don’t have any other network-intensive applications (other downloads, streaming services) running in the background while you play.

Uninstalling ROCKITPLAY Launcher / Games

How do I remove ROCKITPLAY-accelerated games from my PC?
Use the “Add or Remove Program” function under “Apps and Features” of WINDOWS and search for the name of the game. You will find two entries; one with the ROCKITPLAY icon and another with a blue icon. Select the entry with the blue icon and uninstall it.
How do I uninstall ROCKITPLAY Launcher?
Use the “Add or Remove Program” function under “Apps and Features” of WINDOWS and search for “ROCKITPLAY”. Two entries “Launcher” and “Kernel” will appear, uninstall both. (IMPORTANT: make sure you remove any ROCKITPLAY-accelerated game that you may have installed BEFORE removing the launcher)
When trying to delete a game, I get a message that reads "WINDOWS cannot find C:\Program Files\ ROCKITPLAY Launcher\dxlauncher.exe"

This issue happens when you uninstall the launcher before unistalling the game.
Steps to solve this issue:
1. Reinstall the game using the installer that you downloaded
2. Uninstall the games via the “apps and features” menu
3. Once the game was uninstalled, unninstall both the ROCKITPLAY Launcher and the ROCKITPLAY Kernel

I have multiple games installed. After I uninstalled one, the others do not work anymore and I get a "Verbindung zum Server fehlgeschlagen" error.

This is a known error that we plan on fixing in the near future.
To fix it, re-install the game you want to play using the installer that you downloaded from Purplehills.
All your games will now run again without issues.
